Brother Vincent Malham Center
Palestinian Traditional Music Archive

The Palestinian folk song forms an important part of the Euro-Mediterranean heritage, which is currently at risk of begin lost for future generations as knowledgeable generations pass away. Many nations in the world have made comprehensive documentation of their folk songs; in the Arab world, and mainly in Palestine, only a few attempts in a limited number of places have been made. As a result, Bethlehem University adopted a project to preserve and promote Palestinian folk songs in the West Bank and Gaza. Funding for this comprehensive effort to preserve folk songs with modern technology was provided by the European Union (EU) during 2010.
